A Granny Square Blanket

I’m sure you have heard of them before…or you’ve seen a granny square blanket in real life. They are so much fun and the possibilities are endless!

In this class we will be crocheting squares for your very own granny square blanket. You will learn how to structure your squares, work with multiple colors, and how to sew the squares together in a seamless fashion. Blankets can be made in many different sizes, please see chart below for reference. This workshop is beginner friendly.

Please note that we will have 3 hours in this workshop for working on this pattern, but you may not finish the entire project in that time…if you are brand new to crochet, it can take a little practice to get comfortable with the stitches and tension. And simply due to whatever size you are looking to make, a blanket can take longer than the allotted time. I will do my best to ensure you understand how to complete your project on your own if we do not finish it in the class.

YOU WILL NEED TO GET:

*a minimum of 1500 yards of yarn of Medium weight yarn (4).

I recommend purchasing a minimum of 4 skeins of Caron® Blossom Cakes™ Yarn. OR you can also use any other medium weight (4) yarn! For those first starting, using a quality yarn will make a big difference. Please get a minimum of 3 different colors! Make sure they compliment each other.

*Crochet hook US size 6 or 8 is suitable for this pattern.

*Yarn needles will be required for this project.

*Scissors …embroidery scissors work great.

*Not required, but very helpful: A Granny Square Blocking Board

Rsvp to get your spot, there is limited seating! Supplies are not included in this workshop, please come prepared.
